Star joins the campaign “Europe has forgotten the human rights of migrant sex workers”

On the occasion of the International Day of Sex Workers, June 2, the International network for the promotion of the rights of migrant sex workers TAMPEP calls for action by launching the campaign “Europe has forgotten the Human Rights of Migrant Sex Workers” and developed its first Declaration.
As a member of the international network TAMPEP, Star- The first sex workers collective in the Balkans, is proud to be part of this campaign. We join this campaign by signing a declaration and a petition raised by TAMPEP.

The demands contained in the Declaration reflect basic international standards and seek to encourage European and national politicians to take urgent action.
The first phase of the campaign is a petition to collect signatures from individuals and organisations, which is necessary to start the change that needs to happen.

The situation is critical, migrant sex workers can not wait any longer. Covid-19 exposed the government’s hostile policies instead of supporting migrant workers. Their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights are not respected.

It has never been more than necessary for organisations and sex workers around the world to report on the degradation and exclusion of migrant sex workers from national and European support in the time of Covid 19.
