STAR – the first sex workers collective in the Balkans has organized the 12th Annual Red Umbrella March to mark 17th December – The International Day to Stop Violence against Sex Workers. This year Red Umbrella March was dedicated to the fight against gender-based violence. Around 100 participants, sex workers, activists and our supporters marched from the Memorial House of Mother Teresa to the square of Philip II, joining the global campaign for solidarity with sex workers and reinforce the message to stop the violence and discrimination against sex workers.
As a result of the successful campaign to mark this important day, STAR in cooperation with FlyCam and supported by the Foundation Open Society-Macedonia, Red Umbrella Fund and ViiV Healthcare, has published a video of the last year’s Red Umbrella March in Skopje.
