Today, October 18th, on the World Anti-Trafficking Day, TAMPEP, the European Network for the Promotion of Rights and Health among migrant Sex Workers has officially sent out the migrant Sex Workers’ demands to the European and national officials and policy makers:
- Guarantee barrier-free access to healthcare services and vaccines for all, including migrant sex workers and other potentially criminalised communities in accordance with UNAIDS recommendations.
- Access to public services and funding without penalisation or risk of deportation
- Stop using pandemic regulations to unfairly arrest, detain, heavily fine and deport migrant sex workers
- Ensure no person is held in breach of visa conditions for overstaying due to reasons related to COVID-19 and release though held in detention under immigration powers to reduce risk of COVID-19 outbreaks and humanitarian catastrophe
- Enforce migration policies that are inclusive and respectful of the Human Rights of migrant Sex Workers while guaranteeing their legal protection
Marking the October 18th , The World Anti-Trafficking Day, by lobbying national parties across Europe for the human rights and freedoms of migrant sex workers is part of the TAMPEP’s campaign “Europe has forgotten the human rights of migrant sex workers”, which continues until December 17th, The International Day to STOP Violence against Sex Workers, at which point we will make a final call for our collective demands to be recognised and acted upon.
The TAMPEP network and allied organisations have already given support to the fundamental Human Rights of migrant Sex Worker’s in Europe by signing the declaration, including STAR-The First Sex Workers Collective in the Balkans: www.tampep.eu/declaration/names/organisations
